Media Region Bergen, NCE Media & Media City Bergen

Norwegian Center of Expertise in Media (NCE Meida) needed three different websites with their own identities but with a certain connection between them.

Cards as a way of organising the content.

In January 2015 we started with the work to make new websites for Media Region Bergen (MRB). MRB is the member organisation for the media cluster in Bergen. Under them, you have NCE Media and Media City Bergen. MRB needed three different websites with their own identities but with a certain connection between them.

To understand all the challenges, problems and opportunities, of both the organisations and the users, we held several workshops with different aims. We also needed to see what they had in common, in order to make sites for organisations that are pretty similar, but yet so different.
Organisations that are member based, like these, often have limited resources. In other words, we needed to do a lot of research in a short amount of time. This is where it becomes crucial to have a client that sees and understands the value of feedback along the way. For each decision we took along the way, either it was about users, wireframes, information architecture, design, etc, we ran it by our client to see if we were on the right track. We also ran it by the users, in form of workshops and meetings, to see that we made something that was of value for them as well.

By using a people-centered approach and identifying needs and desires along the way, the websites were successfully launched by the fall of 2015. Our partner for this project was Keyteq.
